Good News! The United Church of Christ Lost 286K Members, 551 Churches in Last Decade! +67% of Congregations Under 50 People

In a bit of a good news story, the United Church of Christ (UCC), which frequently catfights with the ERLC and PCUSA to see who can hate Jesus more and proverbially pluck the most hairs out of his beard, has revealed they’ve lost 286,610 members and 551 congregations from 2012-2022, according to a report by the UCC Center for Analytics, Research & Development and Data.

This is wonderful news, as the denomination is pro-LGBTQ, pro-choice, and pro-heresy, with scarcely a remnant remaining.

50.7% of congregations have a membership of fewer than 100 people, and 25.7% have fewer than 50. Those numbers are a bit misleading, however, as when you factor in in-person attendance, rather than just being on the membership roles, the report reveals that “two-thirds (67.9%) of all UCC congregations now have a weekly worship attendance of 1-50 individuals.”

As far as the makeup of who is leading these tiny flocks, which are populated almost exclusively by octogenarians and 24-year-old blue-haired lesbians, ordained women numbered ordained men 53.4% to 46,2%, with another 0.5% being transgendered.

We pray they continue to crash and burn.
