Woke Lutheran University Shuts Down. Awesome!

Finlandian University is one of 26 universities affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, and they are closing down after the Board of Trustees voted not to enroll new students this year and instead dissolve the institution.

Founded in 1896 as the Suomi College and Theological Seminary, the school was created to teach the word of God to Finnish immigrants and train up Lutheran pastors. Over the years, as the ELCA became more and more progressive, the seminary drifted. They ended up becoming a woke Liberal Arts college that embraced every stripe of LGBTQ deviancy, with threadbare ties to the church.

Because the functional paganism of the ERLC does’t build, only destroyes, people stopped caring about such an irreleveant place and endowments plummeted. In the fall of 2021, Finlandia reported an enrollment of 430 students and 170 faculty and staff, down 2/3 from a decade ago.

The trustees note “The combination of demographic changes, with fewer high school graduates available, a steep decrease in interest in returning to college among those graduates, a dwindling endowment, and an unbearable debt load have made Finlandia no longer viable.”
