Breaking! Bart Barber Defeats Tom Ascol to be New SBC President

Bart Barber has secured a decisive victory over Tom Asscol for Southern Baptist Convention president, defeating him in a runoff vote.

The writing was on the wall after Voddie Baucham lost his bid for Pastor’s Conference President and was defeated by Daniel Dickard, despite having huge name recognition over him. With that vote going so poorly, it did not portend well for Ascol’s backers and his chance at victory, and this was borne out in both the first vote, and the latter.

In the first round, Barber received 3258 votes, some 900 more than Ascol’s 2322. With Barber getting 47% to Ascol’s 34%. Frank Cox received 997 votes, or 13%, and Robin Hadday another 340, or 5% With these numbers, it was a foregone conclusion to would rule the day.

On the second vote, Barber received 60.7% of the vote to Ascol’s 38.88%, beating him by 1229 votes and sealing the deal.

Ultimately, this will prove disastrous for the Southern Baptist Convention and will do nothing to change the direction they’re heading in. Instead, it will merely entrench the corruption. Bart Barber ferociously defended Ed Litton in the plagiarism scandal that saw him resign from the presidency, arguing that the whole thing was much ado about nothing, to the point that he became the Fauci of Sermongate. Barber has also steadfastly battled against abortion abolitionists and defended the ERLC’s decision to fight against the Louisiana Bill to abolish abortion, on account that it would punish women, contrary to his view that the Woman is “Never the One Doing the Killing” During an Abortion.

It is a terrible choice, and the SBC will be worse off for it, but they are in a whirlwind of their own making, and they’re reaping what they’ve sown.

  1. Ichabod, the time has come to move on, there cannot be fellowship with these “leaders” their actions may me think many of them are just unsaved. I met atheists who have higher standards than this crowd

    1. I agree. It is time for Biblical Baptists to wake up to the fact that the SBC is gone. One point mentioning too is those votes the other two lesser candidates received if given to Ascol would have won him the election. Time to move on. Stop giving to them.

      1. My last pay check was $8750 just ecom working 12 hours for every week. My neighbor have found the estimation of $15k for a long time and she works around 20 hours for seven days. 02~]

  2. It’s clear that the SBC does not want conservative leadership. It does not want conservative ideals (it can’t even stay true to it’s own confession of faith, BFM2000, let alone the Bible). It seems that it’s time for biblically-minded, faithful believers and churches to depart from the SBC. Leave it to its own designs and destruction. If there really were a mass exodus of conservatives from the SBC it would just be a matter of time before the entity went completely apostate. Maybe it’s time to stop delaying the inevitable.

    1. What will be truly interesting is when churches (and people) stop giving to the Cooperative Program and the SBC sinks for lack of funds to fund its’ bloated bureaucracy (full disclosure: I never, ever supported the idea of the local Associations – it was just a financial drain on churches when the true resources and leadership comes from the State Conventions.) Those going to woke churches don’t give the majority of money. Those woke churches often give the lowest percentages of money to the CP. Time to put the Bible before us all and walk away.

It is time to put up and walk away or shut up.

        1. Matthew 7:6. If you want to stop them from turning again to rend you, quit giving them your pearls. Pretty simple.

  3. It’s reaching the point where they might as well just burn their Bibles, and declare the SBC to be a business and political organization, or something other than a Christian church. If they’re not going to adhere to and honor scripture, there’s no sense being disgustingly lukewarm pretenders, fakes, and frauds. They should just have a Bible burning ceremony and get it over with.

  5. The SBC started the spiral downward in the 70’s. It always starts with the Bible Translations, then Music, and then the rest of the way.
