Joanna Gaines Is Super LGBTQ Affirming, Praises Gay ‘Throuple’ Anouncement?
Professing Christian couple and TV personalities Chip and Joanna Gaines, known for their HGTV show ‘Fixer Upper’ and the Magnolia brand, are facing criticism for their decision to prominently feature a same-sex couple in their new series, Back to the Frontier. While this is bad enough, a deep dive into her social media history paints an even more disturbing picture.
Billy Jack Brawner, a creative director, is married to Sara Brawner. For years they struggled to conceive, enduring three miscarriages and one stillbirth before adopting four children. Shortly thereafter, however, they discovered she was pregnant, and the couple welcomed five children in under a year.
In 2016, after seeing his work and falling in love with it, Billy Jack Brawner became a key creative partner to Joanna Gaines, who worked for the next five years to shape and execute the visual and conceptual direction of the Magnolia brand across print, TV, digital, and product platforms.
In February 2021, Brawner came out as gay, sharing in a now-private Instagram post that, despite being married with children, he is a gay man who is “learning to absolutely love myself.”
In this post he reveals “I’m in love with a man who is so good. My life is so good, and I am so thankful. No more hate.” This man became the third partner in the couple’s relationship, with the three forming a ‘throuple’ to raise the children together.
Despite this new arrangement being a grotesque and bizarre mockery of God’s holy law and designs for marriage, which will inevitably scar their children for life and irreparably destroy the family, Joanna Gaines actually LIKED the post. She publicly declared her support by commenting, “Yes @billyjackbrawner. You are SO good. We love you.”
Another post which seemingly referenced his coming out to be his true self was also liked by Gaines.
Coming out as as a gay throuple hasn’t seemed to hurt their relationship one bit, however. Brawner has been freelancing since 2022 and some of his jobs have, according to his LinkedIn profile, has included “Writing personal essays for Magnolia Journal, exploring each issue’s theme through my own voice and perspective, while maintaining alignment with the brand’s editorial focus.”
Furthermore, his work was featured in the Summer 2025 Magnolia Journal, with two more features in the 2022 Fall Journal.
Rather than grieve she tolerates and celebrates. What a tragedy.

For the purpose of calling him, and others like him, to repentance. I have to say his explanation is one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. Young boys always look and act more effeminate than men. All young boys. Further, as scripture plainly says, and as is foundational to the entire Gospel of Jesus Christ, all are born into sin. If he felt misplaced inferiority over that, the problem is not that he was truly an abomination as that young boy, the problem is that his mind has been brainwashed into darwinistic stinking thinking, which tells him he always will be that same effeminate boy he believes he once was. But rather than address the real problem, he decides the solution is to just become the abominable sinner, and condemn himself to eternal damnation.

The Deceiver has them repeating his demonic propaganda, while believing it is good. And it’s always the women, like Joanna, who are so easily deceived.
When you see such tactics the Deceiver employs, you begin to understand how the disease spreads, and how it had infected the entire city of Sodom. The Bible says all the men of Sodom, young and old, swarmed to Lot’s door.
What man couldn’t look at pictures of himself as a young boy and say to himself that he looked effeminate?
I guess maybe if there’s a man who had a full-grown beard at the age of five …
But even if it were true that a man believed he were still that same effeminate boy he perceived himself to be, you can’t address the sin by committing more of it. That’s about like saying you can atone for bank robbing by robbing more banks. It’s stupid.

Look at the picture and then consider Eve saw that “it was pleasing to the eye”. That’s part of the deception.
But he’s not happy and fulfilled. No, he’s defiantly rebelling against the Lord, suppressing the real truth, and denying the truth of the Gospel, that he was born “bad” and not “good”, as all are born bad. Doubling down on sin, he sins against his wife and children. He sins against the Lord. If he claims to be a Christian, as Joanna does, he’s sinning against the entire church universal, and against any and all the Lord is calling to repentance, leading many astray to eternal damnation.
There’s nothing “good” about any of it …
Which is also stupid. Right. To defiantly say “no, I was born good!!!” Who can’t look back at their childhood and remember sins they committed? Who can honestly look back and say, I was perfect and did no wrong? He knows full well he wasn’t born good.
When the Lord shows us the deception and the deceptive tactics, it’s very easy to see …
Such propaganda and imagery will warm a woman’s heart like nothing else will. That’s the tactics of the deception.
But the one to blame is Chip. He bears the responsibility. He knowingly and intentionally allowed it on the frontier tv show.
When she affirms the man was born “good”, and also that mankind defines what is and is not “good”, she too is in defiant rebellion against the Lord, and undermines the entire Gospel of Jesus Christ. Like Eve, she falls into transgression. That’s the deception. And it’s her husband’s job to kindly and gently remind her that everything that glitters is not gold, and everything that warms her heart is not love.
This is why the justification of wickedness is also an abominable sin (Prov. 17:15). Her sins are almost worse than the sodomite.
As Jesus said to the scribes and pharisees, who also defined for themselves what is good and not good, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men, that it would be better for sodom and gomorrah on the day of judgment, than it would be for them. And it’s why Heb 10 says one who falls back into transgression after knowing the truth, is worse than before. Because the justification of such wickedness, by profession believers, is in many ways worse than the sin they justify …
