Newsboys Dropped From Major Music Festival Amid Ongoing Michael Tait Scandal

The Newsboys continue to endure the fallout of the Michael Tait sex abuse scandal, with ChurchLeaders reporting that the storied CCM band has been dropped from another music festival.

The Newsboys were originally scheduled to headline The Big Church Festival, a three-day Christian music event in Sussex, England, featuring artists like Phil Wickham, Brandon Lake, Elevation Rhythm, and others, but a Facebook post from organizers reveals that they have cancelled their appearance.

A month ago, after Tait was accused of drugging a woman and watching her get sexually assaulted, promoters cancelled the Canadian leg of the Newsboys tour, K-Love announced they were ‘resting’ the band’s music from their radio stations indefinitely, and the band itself revealed they’ve been dropped by their record label, Capitol Christian Music Group,
