Christian Elementary School Teacher Arrested For Making and Sharing AI Porn Of His Own Students
A Christian elementary school teacher, David R. McKeown, 47, faces life in prison after being arrested on June 20 for possessing child sexual abuse materials (CSAM), including potentially AI-manipulated images of his own students.
McKeown, a sixth-grade teacher at United Brethren In Christ* (UBIC) Academy in Holly Hill, was charged with 19 felony counts of CSAM possession and six counts of animal pornography. The arrest followed a three-week investigation prompted by a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Police searched McKeown’s home, the school, and his social media, uncovering CSAM and evidence of him sharing students’ personal information and creating AI-generated child pornography of them. He also allegedly photographed himself committing sexual acts with a family pet. Some of these activities reportedly occurred during school hours using the school’s Wi-Fi to communicate with others on Discord.
Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier condemned McKeown’s actions as a profound betrayal of trust, saying in a press release:
As a teacher, parents trusted Mr. McKeown to impart knowledge to their children. Instead, he spent parts of the school day sending and receiving child sex abuse material and providing other pedophiles with UBIC Academy students’ personal information. What he did is beyond betrayal—it’s devastating and sick. Our Office of Statewide Prosecution will aggressively pursue justice for these children and their parents.”
UBIC Academy, where McKeown’s brothers serve as pastors and several family members work, fired him immediately.
McKeown is being held on $1.25M bail at Volusia County Branch Jail, where he faces up to 315 years in prison if convicted.
