Nate Bargatze Announces Theatrical Release Date For His New Family Comedy ‘The Breadwinner’

Prominent stand-up comedian Nate Bargatze has announced the upcoming release of a new movie he co-wrote, produced, and will be starring in, sharing on Instagram that his feature film debut will be in the family comedy ‘The Breadwinner.’

Bargatze, a Christian known for his clean style of comedy that eschews cursing or adult material, was the world’s top-grossing comic in 2023 and 2024 and recently received rave reviews for his appearance on Saturday Night Live and his sketch ‘Washington’s Dream.’

He told Relevant Magazine that the film, which has a March 13, 2026 release date, is “in the vein of Mr. Mom and Home Alone” and that “…I don’t know the first thing about making a movie. I’m excited to figure it all out—what works, what’s funny, what needs tweaking. It’s going to be a whole new world, and I can’t wait to learn.”
