Prominent Canadian Prophet Steps Back From Public Ministry After Admitting to Sins Against ‘The Lord…My Wife’

Art Lucier is a prominent Canadian “prophet” and the pastor of Kelowna Harvest Church in Kelowna, BC, a church group known for their ecstatic charismatic manifestations and 5-fold theology.

He is also the Apostolic Overseer of Harvest Ministries International (HMI), an organization he founded with his wife, and is known for his involvement in the Canadian Firewall (a national prayer initiative), leading “Battle for Canada” gatherings, and heading up multiple Prophetic Networks.

Canadian Evangelist John Elving, who has been covering Lucier for years and documenting instances of false prophecies and suspect behavior, shared that on March 30th, the embattled prophet livestreamed a video announcing he would be immediately stepping back from public ministry, saying:

I would also say that I’m the first to admit that I have, as I have, and I will again, I will admit this, I have not been perfect and I do not have a spotless past. Before we established this ministry, Heather and I had a lot to figure out in our marriage and I definitely made some sinful mistakes along the way. It was a pretty hard first 10 years for us.

I so loved the Lord, but I had inner heart, soul issues that needed dealing with. The truth is I did sin against the Lord and against heaven many times, and even against my vows and against my wife and against others. And as I repented to the Lord and to Heather and to any and all then, I do again before the Lord and before my wife and before anyone else that I hurt… and before all of you here today.

And though these sins were dealt with in a proper biblical manner with boards and leaderships, bringing counsel and discipline in proper measure, they were dealt with.

For years, Lucier has been battling allegations of spiritual abuse, emotional manipulation, and reports of inappropriate physical behavior.

A Change.org petition, organized by his son-in-law Salem Webb and signed by dozens of members from his former church, Kitimat Harvest Church, has requested that the Oversight Committee at Harvest Ministries International “engage with a third-party investigator to establish the facts and provide a path forward to protect future victims from harm.”

They allege Lucier has been involved in “grooming and sexual abuse of young girls, repeated and prolonged spiritual abuse, and the public shaming and silencing of survivors and whistleblowers.”

Lucier has instead framed any error or shortcoming on his behalf, something that he committed decades ago, and proceeded to suggest that these attacks were coming from his enemies bent on destroying his ministry.

The enemy is now bringing up actually though these past sins up even though they’re under the blood and… I do not hold anything against anyone or them or in my heart or otherwise. I forgive every single day. As I’ve been shown mercy, all I can do is ask for mercy for us all.

We also believe that God is bigger. And I will say this, that this spirit is coming down. Your prayer and discernment is needed more than ever.

The fire of God is coming down. His purifying fire, it’s in the house of the Lord for sure. It convicts us, purifies us, changes us. God’s fire is ultimately for redemption and for restoration. That’s His fire. We have to embrace it.

The enemy’s fire, it’s not about redemption, but I’m not gonna go there. I’m not even gonna…He’s an arsonist and he’s an assassin and we must know the difference.

Similarly, his Oversight Committee has been reticent to act and has so far resisted calls for a third-party investigation.
