‘Shepherds for Sale’ Author Megan Basham Diagnosed With Advanced Colorectal Cancer
NYT bestselling author Megan Basham, perhaps best known for her reporting at The Daily Wire and her book ‘Shepherds for Sale: How Evangelical Leaders Traded the Truth for a Leftist Agenda,’ announced on X that she has been diagnosed with “stage three, advanced colorectal cancer.”
Basham, a Christian media personality who has spent years faithfully and fearlessly pushing back against the leftward shift by evangelical leaders, pointing to a more biblical way, revealed in a post:
According to the American Cancer Society: “Stage three, advanced colorectal cancer means that the cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes, but has not yet spread to distant parts of the body, signifying a more advanced stage of colorectal cancer compared to earlier stages where the tumor is localized to the colon or rectum itself; this typically requires a combination of surgery to remove the tumor and nearby lymph nodes, followed by adjuvant chemotherapy to further reduce the risk of recurrence.”
The five year survival rate for stage 3 colerectal cancer is anywhere between 66-74%, depending on multiple factors, with a stage 4 progression dropping the survival rate precipitously to 11-13%
