Wife Arrested in Connection With Death of US Pastor Serving As Missionary in Angola
The wife of a Minnesota pastor who was serving as a first-time missionary in Angola has been arrested and charged with his murder, according to authorities. It is unclear at this time in what way or manner.
Beau Shroyer was a Detroit Lakes Police officer, pastor, and married father of five. He and his wife, Jackie, moved to Angola three years ago to work as missionaries for SIM USA, where they focused on sharing the gospel with and ministering to children and youth.
He was killed last Friday “in an act of violence,” according to a statement shared by Pastor Troy Easton of Lakes Area Vineyard Church, where Shroyer had been a long-term member.
Easton has since shared another update, telling congregants, “Wherever you are and whatever you’re doing, I’m going to ask you to sit down, take a deep breath and remember that God is our ever-present help in times of trouble” before revealing that Beau’s wife has been arrested in connection with his murder:
As you all know, our community has been deeply saddened by the death of our dear brother and friend Beau Shroyer, who was killed in a violent, criminal attack in Angola, Africa on Friday, October 25. Today, our grief and sadness has deepened immeasurably as we’ve learned that his wife, Jackie Shroyer, has been arrested in connection with his death.
I’m so sorry and simply do not have words to express my disbelief and sorrow about this news. What I can tell you is that the Shroyer children are well cared for and we will work alongside SIM USA and SIM Angola to ensure that continues to be the case. I also want you to know that we will do what we can to come alongside and care for you too.
In a since deleted presentation of their missionary work to County Faith Church in June, Beau and Jackie can be seen discussing their work:

very nice article. Good info
Not nice. Pray before you say The home pastor spoke with grace, in n and b edifying voice. In my opinion, based on this article.
This is bizarre coming from Believers, so so sad for the Children. I wish it had given a reason or suspicion even would have helped.
Given their government, I wouldn’t trust anything they say. They’re muslim and allow muslims to kill Christians. That means she is likely innocent.
