Greg Locke Recounts Moments After Horrific Drive-By On Family: ‘I’m running around the house like a madman with an AR in my hand and a 9mm in my back pocket’
Pastor Greg Locke of Global Vision Bible Church recounted during his sermon yesterday the mayhem that transpired in the aftermath of a crazed gunman unloading an entire magazine of bullets into his garage, car, and home while one of his children was inside, in what was a clear attempt to murder he and his family.
Locke explained that he and his wife Tai were taking separate vehicles back from a church event and she was set to arrive at the house before him, when the Lord told her to “get over into slow lane and just go a little slower.’ As a result, her arrival home was delayed by several minutes.
“I roll up in the driveway and I stopped and I said ‘well holy smoked somebody has busted beer bottles at the end of our driveway.’ It looked like glass everywhere just shimmering and glimmering in the moonlight.”
Realizing that they were shell casings, and that they had penetrated his house, Locke ran into the house armed with his AR-15 and pistol.
“I’m running around the house like a madman with an AR in my hand and a 9mm in my back pocket, not knowing what’s going on… So (the police) eventually showed up…and I’m running around like a madman, then they show up and they’re like, ‘put your hands in the air.’ I’m like, ‘it’s my house!’
So I put the AR down and they said, ‘turn around, put your hands up, walk backwards, get on your knees.’ And so I’m doing all that. And I’m like, ‘I got one in my back pocket too. You might want to get that before I get down.’
Locke shares that the assailants, of which there was more than one, fired 60 rounds in three seconds and that if it hadn’t been for the Holy Spirit speaking to Tai about slowing down, she would have likely been home when the shots were fired. He revealed that law enforcement is working on the case and suggested they may have some good leads on potential culprits.
