‘The Chosen’ Season 5 Fully Funded by 100,000 Supporters + Will Feature Judas’ Backstory, Family

The latest season of Dallas Jenkin’s hit TV show The Chosen is fully funded. Partners Come and See Foundation, a group whose mission is to”ensure that all 7 seasons of The Chosen are globally distributed, translated into 600 languages, and free for all,” announced that the generosity of over 104,000 backers from 151 countries has ensured they can continue bringing the show to the masses.

Come and See CEO Stan Jantz shared that “Season 5 is fully funded because more than 100,000 people from around the world gave to make Season 5 of this groundbreaking series possible. The extraordinary generosity we witness daily is inspiring because it enables us to continue making the authentic Jesus known to the world one episode at a time.”

With season five filming the events of Holy Week, Jenkins hinted that audience members would likely see a ficticious backstory of Judas Iscariot, who would betray Jesus and then hang himself (a recent storyline featured Jesus choosing not to heal the Apostle Thomas’s fiancee after a Roman official straight up murders her in front of them)

Jesus outright told the disciples, ‘One of you will betray me.’ They didn’t have a hallway for it. They couldn’t understand it. They couldn’t figure out who it might be. So why is that? Why couldn’t they figure out it was Judas. I love exploring that. How does this impact Judas? Judas probably had a family.”
