Sean Feucht Cancels Worship Service Over Poor Sleeping Conditions, But Was He Justified?
Prominent worship leader Sean Feucht concluded his Canadian “Let Us Worship” tour, which was marked by controversy during its final leg, and which saw everything from smoke bombs being thrown at him during his worship service to multiple politicians calling for his events to be canceled.
Steve Lesperance of Straitway Truth Deliverance Ministry publicly denounced Feucht as an “evil fraud” after Feucht canceled an event at Kawartha First Nation’s Treasure Island Private Family Resort originally scheduled for yesterday morning
After multiple venues in Ontario canceled on Feucht, Kawartha First Nation, in partnership with Straitway Truth Deliverance Ministry, offered to host the event. Feucht announced the arrangement in now-deleted posts.
However, tensions arose when Feucht and his team arrived after midnight and were dissatisfied with the run-down condition of the camp, which has a poor reputation among locals.
Lesparance, the Deputy Chief of Kawartha First Nations, shared in press release:
“Kawartha First Nation had stepped in to host the event after six of Feucht’s Canadian tour stops were cancelled, organizing the gathering in less than 48 hours. Preparations included:
A cleaned and prepared event centre for 200–300 people indoors, with outdoor capacity for thousands.
Breakfast service and a coffee truck for attendees.
Accommodations for Feucht, his team, and 15 crew members, including showers and additional lodging.
…At 12:03 a.m., Feucht’s Canadian director, Nichola Shilton (Burn Canada), notified Deputy Chief Brother Steve by email that Feucht was “appalled with the sleeping conditions of the lodging that was provided” and would not lead worship, despite previous assurances that his team only needed “a place to lay their heads and a shower” after days on the road.
Despite Feucht’s last-minute withdrawal, the gathering will proceed as scheduled.

In response, Lesperance questioned their motivation:
Cassie, Sean’s road manager, told me “all they wanted was a place to lay their heads and a shower.” after sleeping on the bus for the last few days.
We delivered exactly that. Yet your email said Sean was “appalled with the sleeping conditions of the lodging that was provided,” and the event was cancelled – without a thank you, without a phone call, and just hours before the gathering.
Even if the accommodations weren’t ideal, would Jesus walk away from His flock? Would He cancel a worship gathering because the conditions weren’t luxurious?
Beyond logistical issues, the event’s hosts were controversial. Kawartha Lakes First Nation emerged just a few years ago after William Denby, who reportedly is not Indigenous, declared himself chief of a claimed nation, asserting rights to nearly 6,000 square miles of land and designating his property as a Indian reserve. (See more about him here) Denby was later arrested and charged with criminal harassment, uttering threats, and intimidation of justice system participants after making veiled death threats against band leaders who disagreed with his legitimacy.
As for Straitway Truth Deliverance Ministry, they appears to be some soer of Heberew Israelite offshoot with more than a few beliefs.

I’ve been traveling for a lot of years and have stayed at my share of really awful motels in the middle of nowhere. My threshold for not staying at one is if the sheets are stained and if the bathrooms are so dirty that I have to stand up to pee. I really can’t blame him, but he at least needs to honor his commitments and sleep on his bus.
My roomate’s mom-in-regulation makes usd eighty one each hour at the laptop . She has been fired for eight months but remaining month her paycheck turned into usd 17367 just operating on the pc for a few hours…..

Reading about this on a different outlet might bring light the situation. The offered “accommodations” can notably be described at one of the biggest eye sores of the Kawartha Lakes. The people offering such accommodations are unhinged and an utter embarrassment to human kind, not to mention legitimate people of Indigenous descent. It looks exactly like a kayaking camp I went to in Colorado once. Its pretty normal looks for a camp on the river. Gotta be a bit of an “eye-sore” to catch people’s attention. AND mostly its gonna be people in their 20s that stop at such a place so its gonna have that aesthetic.

The National Post in Canada Reporter was on site, the Mobile Home was clean, 2 bedroom, oak kitchen with living room, shower & bathroom for the two ladies, Sean was staying in a brand new pop up tent trailer! When they arrived 2 hours late from a farmers field in Ottawa, NO BUS, NO STAGE or SOUND Equipment we knew something was up!! We had people driving over 6 hours to come to the Sunday Worship, over 200 people were coming, we had to phone as many as we could in short notice to let them know SEAN FEUCHT CANCELLED THE SUNDAY MORNING WORSHIP FOR GOD! HE CANCELLED WE BELIEVE BECAUSE HE COULD MAKE MORE MONEY AT THE CHURCH of FIRE location in Toronto!! I say let’s not look a grift horse in the mouth … I don’t care why Sean Foible canceled his dumpster false fire of fraudulency, I’m just glad that at least for one day no one was subjected to another round of grift.
Second, it’s a providential cherry on top that his method of cancellation revealed him for the self-indulgent snake he is; I give you the words of the apostle:

I don’t know what’s going on in Kawartha Lakes, but I do know that it is important for us, as Christians, to put the Lord first.
Read what Peter tells us in 2 Peter chapter 3. All of this is going to burn one day. And the reason we all are still here is because He is patient, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Jesus told us that we are the salt of the earth. We must not recompense evil for evil (Rom. 12:17, etc.). However we deal with problems, we must not do so in a manner that is sinful. A bunch of sinning back and forth, one side against the other, only escalates and makes matters worse. And we must remember that the first concern is the Lord’s first concern, that any who are given to sin, acting not of the Spirit, but of the flesh, to always first and foremost call them to repentance, while also recognizing that we ourselves were once enslaved to the flesh. Because it is eternal fate, and eternal home that matters most.
Stay focused on what truly matters. Put the Lord first. And certainly stand fast and fight for what’s right, by His standards, because that is a part of calling them to repentance, and we do all have to live and survive. But whatever you do, be careful that you do not sin. Neither sin nor tolerate sin. The hypocrite is the devil’s servant. You cannot fight darkness with more darkness. You split the darkness wide open with the light. Use the proper weapons of our warfare (2 Cor. 1), remembering that we battle not against flesh and blood. We have to remember unbelievers are blind and deceived, why they are deceived, and who it is that has deceived them.

Also remember Duet. 19, and be careful not to falsely accuse. That’s very important.
If we remain faithful to the Lord, and are careful not to sin, then victory is little more than a matter of breathing. The devil will try every trick in the book to get you to sin. Don’t do it. Fear the Lord more than you fear men.
It should go without saying that we’ve all failed in this regard. I’ve probably failed more than most. But that’s also why I know what works and what doesn’t. I’ve learned that lesson the hard way. Be assured of one fact. Things work the way God says they work. And nothing else will our could work. Submit to Him and stay obedient to Him, and the rest will fall into place.
The Lord will not honor dishonor. He will not Himself justify sin, reward sin, or resort to sin. Remain obedient and He will show you a way of escape, and a way to resolve the problems, that is not sinful. It takes true faith. You have to trust Him in all things. Knowing that his commandments are not burdensome (1 John 5). The Lord will not help anyone pervert His grace into a license to sin. The only way through is His way. If we keep these things in mind, and remain obedient to Him, we will get through times of difficulty just fine and unscathed. But if we go on expecting Him to sin against Himself, then we’re just beating our heads against the wall, and making matters worse.

Usually these musicians have contract riders that specify their accommodations. I once saw Steve Camp throw a fit because he wanted a hotel room and found out the room he was offered was a nice room at a church camp. I understand why they have such riders. If you are going to live on the road, you want to specify how your are going to live just like when you are home, you probably get the best home you can afford.
It is just a good reminder to stop treating the entertainment as though they are something more than they are.
