Christian Mom Defends Her Faith, Sues Oregon for Preventing Adoption Because of Christian Beliefs

(Daily Citizen) All one Oregon mom wanted for Christmas was to welcome children from the foster care system into her family. Instead, she is suing the state of Oregon for religious discrimination.

Oregon is refusing to let Jessica Bates adopt foster siblings because her Christian beliefs about human sexuality. She believes boys and girls are biologically different and those differences are good and should be celebrated.

Oregon state officials say Bates is unfit to adopt or even participate in the foster system because she will not agree to use preferred pronouns or assist a child in a gender transition. Last week, Bates filed a notice of appeal to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals after the lower court ruled against her. The case is Bates v. Pakseresht.

Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) is representing Bates in the matter.

Bates is a Christian and mother to five children between the ages of 10 and 17. She was widowed in 2017 when her husband died in a car…to continue reading click here.

Coordinated Attack sees 160 Christians Massacred in Nigeria, Including Baptist Pastor and 9 Family Members

Christian Daily InternationalMorning Star News) – Terrorists massacred 160 people, many of them preparing for church Christmas programs, Saturday night (Dec. 23) through Monday (Dec. 25) in coordinated attacks on predominantly Christian areas in Plateau state, Nigeria, sources said.

Church pastors were killed and hundreds of houses were destroyed in the massacres in villages of Barkin Ladi, Bokkos and Mangu counties, officials and residents said. The assailants killed the Rev. Solomon Gushe of Baptist Church in Dares village along with nine of his family members, said Bokkos County resident Dawzino Mallau.

“Some pastors were killed, and another pastor and his wife and five children were killed during these attacks,” Mallau told Christian Daily International-Morning Star News in a text message. “These terrorists who attacked these Christian communities were in the hundreds, and they carried out the attacks as the hapless Christians were preparing for Christmas programs lined up by their pastors.”

Most of the Christians killed were women, children and the elderly unable to escape, he said.

Alfred Mashat, another resident of the Bokkos area, said hundreds of houses were destroyed.

“About 160 Christians in these villages were killed by the terrorists,” Mashat said in a text message to Christian Daily International-Morning Star News. “We believe they are carrying out these attacks alongside armed Muslim Fulani herdsmen.”

Church of England Re-Opens Disciplinary Case Against Vicar For Calling Trans Priest ‘a bloke’

(Christianconcern) The Church of England (CofE) re-opened an investigation into one of its former clergy for calling a transgender priest ‘a bloke’ in a YouTube vlog.

Rev. Brett Murphy, 38, was on the receiving end of a coordinated campaign resulting in a record four Clergy Disciplinary Measures (CDM) being brought against him. On his YouTube channel, Rev. Murphy discusses weekly news from a Christian Orthodox Anglican perspective.

A CDM is a formal procedure for handling allegations of serious misconduct by clergy within the CofE. If a CDM is upheld by the presiding Bishop, it is kept on a clergy’s ‘blue file’ and can lead to rebukes, dismissal and prevent further employment within the CofE.

While leading St. David’s Church in Coalville, Leicestershire, Rev. Murphy had four CDMs upheld by the diocesan registrar for:

  • Misgendering the CofE’s first transgender Archdeacon, Rev. Rachel Mann.
  • Social media posts criticizing prayers put forward for the King’s coronation by the same Archdeacon that aligned with witchcraft and described Jesus as ‘our sister’.  The complaint was anonymous.
  • Expressing concern over the teaching of marriage and human sexuality in UK schools in a sermon.
  • Not visiting a member of the public in hospital who no longer attended his church. Rev. Murphy was not notified the man was in hospital or even sick.

With support from the Christian Legal Centre, each CDM brought against him was dismissed by the Bishop of Loughborough, the Rt Revd Saju Muthalaly. However, the CDM was re-opened against Rev. Murphy on the grounds of the first point above: that he described the CofE’s first transgender archdeacon, Rachel Mann, as a ‘bloke’.

In July 2023, Rev. Murphy left.. to continue reading click here.

Michael Brown Defends Mike Bickle’s Legacy, the New Apostolic Reformation

(Evangelical Dark Web) Whereas some men are apologists for Creation, others the historicity of the bible, Michael Brown is the most prolific apologist for hypercharismatic Christianity. Because of certain culture war issues, Brown gained clout with many Christians and conservatives, much as teachers like Eric Metaxas, Sean Feucht, or Mark Driscoll, where people appreciate their stances on cultural issues without understanding their underlying theological backgrounds—for better or worse. Despite a library of evidence going back years, many who are casual observers do not reconcile Brown as a Nar-pologist. Defending the New Apostolic Reformation is defending increasing depths of depravity and leads to inevitably more convoluted apologetics, which Brown has demonstrated.

Sermon At IHOP

In the recent fallout of Mike Bickle at the International House of Prayer, Kansas City (IHOPKC), Michael Brown would preach at IHOPKC, where he advocated for the church to permit the investigative process to bear itself out and to fixate on Jesus and not on teachers. He instructed listeners not to… to continue reading click here.

Called it! Pope Approves Blessings for Same-Sex Couples

ROME (AP) — Pope Francis formally approved letting Catholic priests bless same-sex couples, the Vatican announced Monday, a radical shift in policy that aimed at making the church more inclusive while maintaining its strict ban on gay marriage.

But while the Vatican statement was heralded by some as a step toward breaking down discrimination in the Catholic Church, some LGBTQ+ advocates warned it underscored the church’s idea that gay couples remain inferior to heterosexual partnerships.

The document from the Vatican’s doctrine office elaborates on a letter Francis sent to two conservative cardinals that was published in October. In that preliminary response, Francis suggested such blessings could be offered under some circumstances if the blessings weren’t confused with the ritual of marriage.

The new document repeats that condition and elaborates on it, reaffirming that marriage is a lifelong union between a man and a woman. And it stresses that blessings in question must not be tied to any specific Catholic celebration or religious service and should not be conferred at the same time as a civil union ceremony. Moreover, the blessings cannot use set rituals or even involve the clothing and gestures that belong in a wedding.

But it says requests for such blessings for same-sex couples should not be denied. It offers an extensive and broad definition of the term “blessing” in Scripture to insist that people seeking a transcendent relationship with God and looking for his love and mercy shouldn’t be held up to an impossible moral standard to receive it.

“For, those seeking a blessing should not be required to have prior moral perfection,” it said.

“There is no intention to… to continue reading click here.

VA School Board Trades Bible for Stack of LGBTQ-Themed Pornographic Books for Swearing-in Ceremony

(The Dissenter) In a move that has raised eyebrows and stirred controversy, Fairfax County School Board member Karl Frisch was recently sworn into his second term on a stack of homosexual-themed books, a deliberate choice that diverges from the traditional practice of taking an oath on a religious text. Among these books, one notably included graphic content featuring children. This act, symbolic of Frisch’s stance, is a manifestation of the broader debate surrounding the inclusion of such books in school curriculums and libraries.

This incident provides a window into the ongoing discourse regarding the appropriateness of LGBTQ-themed books in educational settings. Books like “Lawn Boy” by Jonathan Evison, “Gender Queer” by Maia Kobabe, and “All Boys Aren’t Blue” by George M. Johnson, often targeted for removal from school libraries, delve into inappropriate themes of racialism, gender, and sexuality, sometimes through sexually explicit… to continue reading click here.

SBC Pastor Apologizes for Not Informing Church of Abuse Allegations Against Former Children’s Minister

(Ministry Watch) The pastor of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas, apologized to his congregation Sunday for failing to inform them of sexual abuse allegations made against a former children’s ministry worker.

According to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, Pastor Steven Smith read from a prepared statement, acknowledging he had known of the accusations made against Patrick Stephen Miller for the past five years, but said now was the time to disclose what had happened in “the spirit of transparency.”

Smith made the announcement after the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette published a report on Miller’s case. Smith said he had prayed about disclosing what had happened and relied on “counsel from wise members of the church before deciding to publicly discuss this tragedy.”
