Angel Studio’s ‘David’ is continuing its surprising and successful box office run, bringing in another $20M this past week to hit that $70M milestone.
With those sales, David has grossed more than several large Hollywood films, including the Running Man remake, the horror sequel I Know What You Did Last Summer, and the Stephen King remake The Long Walk.
Notably, the film has grossed less than $300k in international markets, but it plans to release in 44 markets over the next year.
Directed by Phil Cunningham and Brent Daws, the film stars notable Christian worship artist Phil Wickham as ‘David’ and Lauren Daigle as ‘Rebecca,’ with the film’s promotional material reading:

Currently, it has a Rotten Tomatoes critic score of 71% and an audience score of 98%, based on more than 1000 reviews.
With a reported budget of $60M and positive word of mouth, the film has already proven a huge financial success for the studio at the box office, without factoring in streaming services and home media.
Angel’s head of theatrical productions, Brandon Purdie, said in a press release.
