79-Year-Old Pastor Kills Himself After Being Accused of Child Sex Crimes

A North Carolina pastor has killed himself less than two weeks after being charged with multiple sex crimes against children.
Waymon Jordan Sr, 79, was the senior pastor of Greater Blessed Hope Baptist Church in Waxhaw, NC. He was married and had four children and eleven grandchildren.
On March 5, he was arrested and charged with four counts of statutory sex offense against a child under the age of 15. According to police records, the incidents happened in 2022.

Released on a $200,000. He was later found dead outside his church with a weapon nearby, and police say no foul play is suspected.
Where there is suicide, there is guilty.
I’m sorry this happened as the victims never get their day in court. Now family/friends have been crushed by both events: the revelation of sex crimes and his suicide. They’re left holding the bag. The suicide implies guilt. If so, it means the person chose to avoid earthly consequences. How awful that in avoiding punishment here, he thrusts himself into the hands of an angry God who stated,” better to be cast into the sea with a millstone around your neck, than harm my little ones.” Any chance for restitution for victims is gone. There is no redemption for him, either. I do not pity him or have any excuses for his actions, but observe the lengths all of us will go to protect our own sin nature. As Paul lamented, “I am the chief of sinners..” It should be a reminder of the realization of our own ability for wickedness.
It bears repeating- sin never happens in isolation. It is an all encompassing poison that wrecks not only the lives of those directly involved, but also thrusts collateral damage on anyone who had contact with the guilty party or the victim. Churches should serve to prick the conscience and warn of this.
Well, it appears he has the final word, then.
