Pornhub Says Florida Poised To Becomes 14th State To Lose Access to Their Website
Pornography giant Pornhub is poised to block Floridians from accessing their content in six years, making Florida the 14th state to lose access to the world’s most popular “adult entertainment” website. According to CBS News:
Pornhub’s parent company, Aylo, said it has opted to block access to its site in Florida rather than comply with a new state law that kicks in on Jan. 1, 2025, requiring age verification to visit pornographic platforms.
The law, known as HB 3, was passed by the Florida Legislature in March. On Monday, a trade group representing the adult entertainment industry filed a federal lawsuit to strike it down.
Pornhub has already blocked access in 12 states: Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Montana, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Texas and Virginia.
The Online Protections for Minors, bans minors under the age of 14 from creating social media accounts, with teens who are 14-15 only able to do so with parental consent.
It also forces anyone who wants to access large porn sites that fit specific criteria to utilize age verification in the form of an uploaded government-issued ID, which both pornographers and perverts are howling about. Rather than face enormous fines for violating the soon-to-be-instituted law, Pornhub has instead chosen to walk away from the state.
Pornhub is one of the most popular websites on earth, being visited by 11.9 billion in January of 2024. They are also incredibly scummy, admitting to knowing that certain groups were posting content from groups that were sex-trafficking women,
