Firefighters in Dallas are battling a three-alarm fire at First Baptist Church Dallas, the SBC megachurch founded in 1868 that Pastor Robert Jeffress is now leading.
According to reports, the call came in just after 6 p.m. that heavy smoke was seen in the sanctuary. The church comprises several buildings in the downtown area, but at the moment, it seems only its oldest historic building, the red brick sanctuary, which serves as its secondary chapel, is ablaze.
Prior to being led by Jeffress, First Baptist Dallas was pastored by Mac Brunson, O.S. Hawkins, W.A. Criswell and George Washington Truett.
Notably, Jeffress has been a vocal and outsoken supporter of President Trump, and some are claiming online that this may be arson.
