Megachurch Pastor Who Produced Films ‘Fireproof,’ ‘Facing the Giants’ Enters Palliative Care Following Cancer Diagnosis

Megachurch SBC Pastor Michael Catt, who has been battling prostate cancer for the last five years, has announced on social media that he’s chosen to discontinue any further cancer treatment after a doctor found a tumor in his brain stem and that the goal is now to make him as “comfortable as possible through palliative care for the few months he has left this side of heaven.’

Catt was the long-time pastor at Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Georgia, before he retired in 2021. He’s perhaps best known for his role in founding Sherwood Pictures, which produced the films Fireproof, Courageous, and Facing the Giants. He also wrote several books to accompany his films, including Fireproof Your Life and Courageous Living.

Keep Catt and his family in your prayers, and pray that the Lord heals him.

  1. My most recent pay test was for a 12-hour-per-week internet job for 9,500 dollars. For months, my sister’s friend has been making an average of 15,000, and she puts in about 20 hours every week. As soon as I gave it a try, I was shocked at how simple it was.
