Church Group Kicked Out Of ShepCon For Passing Out Heretical Literature Attacks Phil Johnson for Clout+ Get Real Whiny
Last month, a church group attending the Shepherds Conference and handing out literature offering $25,000 to anyone who can come to their church and convince them that justification is not by faith alone, were kicked out of the event.
The excised were members of Christ Covenant Church (Denver, CO) led by ‘pastor’ Scott Jarrett, who have become convinced that justification by faith alone is insufficient for salvation. Instead, they believe men and women are saved by grace through faith, but that the salvation must be maintained through faithful obedience to God’s Law. Looking for attention and publicity, they’ve been squabbling with GCC’s Phil Johnson, who they’ve identified as their ticket to notoriety, feeding off and amplifying any morsels of acknowledgment he might give them.
Though Johnson has been nearly entirely dismissive of their clear error and bad-faith offers to come to their church to prove them wrong, he did reference them in a recent sermon, causing New Protestant apologists to bare their teeth and unveil the arrogant and obstreperous nature they’ve been trying so hard (and failing) to keep concealed.
In a video, a member of the LitterBug Cultists launches a slew of personal attacks against Phil designed to prick and provoke, but which are little more than whiny peals that will ultimately fall on deaf ears and infertile ground.
“If all you got are misinterpretations of a few verses, if you’re that stupid, and if your position is what you preached in that lame little sermon of yours, then please come out. We’re begging you Phil….So quit throwing stones from a distance, making excuses, cowering behind your phone screen on Twitter- how pathetic are you? Come out here like a man….”

After seeing your sad little sermon, we’re more convinced than ever that you’re quite the coward, and have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about. Typical of an Old Protestant.
We know you’re scared, but that’s no excuse to hide behind a phone… https://t.co/Y4ZoD2Vz8s pic.twitter.com/DIHkElvVKw
In response, Johnson was curt and to the point.
Could not agree more.
Phil also
can be quite nasty. Is that a fruit of the Spirit?
@Rev Enue, instead of making a public rebuke of Phil (i.e. claiming he “can be quite nasty”), have you tried addressing this issue with Phil? Or would you rather try him in the court of public opinion?
We should have had exhaustive correspondence over the years if his opinions actually mattered,
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it..
