Bethel Church Claims Congregants Healed by Looking at Paintings

During the pre-service message of their July 18 service, Bethel ‘Leaders Network Directors’ Taff Harvey and Dave Harvey did a promo for their healing rooms, recommending that anyone who needs healing come down and get their miracle.

Taff, who leads the worship for the healing rooms, gave this testimony:

Yesterday we had some beautiful testimonies of people being healed. And people would go to get prayer and say ‘we’ve already been healed’, and they were healed either just sitting in the presence of God, or they were looking at some paintings that one of our artist Michael terry was painting. And he had them there and people would just encounter them, looking at the paintings, and they walked away healed. It was a fabulous morning.

We don’t know what these paintings look like. Terry is not active at all on Bethel’s official Art Page, but here are two paintings he painted in the last year, which may be the ones that brought such astonishing and ‘verified healing.’ One is Kobe Bryant and one is an owl, which may be the two that were gazed upon like Moses holding the serpents in his staff.

As it were, we confess that we have very little faith in the ability of these healing rooms to produce miracles or become a conduit for the miraculous, given that Bethel shut down these very same healing houses for much of the last 15 months, along with the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry, on account of the novel coronavirus.

Furthermore, in October, Bethel and their school had so many cases linked back to outbreaks at the school and church – none of which were healed by all those gifted apostles and faith-healers who operate from the 10,000 member megachurch – that it caused their county of over 175,000 people to go into lockdown mode. This was a direct result of how many COVID-19 cases were arising, prompting the Chief Executive Officer for the Shasta Community Health Center to call out Bill and Beni Johnson by name.

Here is a discernment crumb: ‘healing houses’ that shut down when people need healing the most, for fear of catching a sickness or illness during the bad times, should not be frequented or given patronage during the good times.

  1. As I live in Shasta county, I can confirm the truth of this. They literally shut us down because of Bethel and it’s covid infections.
