Exclusive: Tasers are Pulled After Street Preacher Shouts ‘Greg Locke is an Adulterer’ During Church Service

Two street preachers had to call 911 after being chased out by congregants of a church where Pastor Greg Locke was speaking this weekend. A consequence of standing up during the altar call and calling him out to be an adulterer living in a sinful, illegitimate marriage.

Greg Locke is well-known for his politically incorrect social media rants about politics and religion.  Readers of Protestia will recognize him as the foul-mouthed, spouse-abusing, small-time Tennessee pastor who notoriously divorced his wife of two decades and quickly married his secretary.  Despite his biblical infidelity, Locke retained his position as pastor of Global Vision Bible Church, which was founded by himself.

The wild event took place Friday evening during a stop in Locke’s active preching tour at the Legacy Center in Mt. Washington. The controversial pastor, who was last seen on CNN struggling to explain what a pandemic was and threatening to beat up a Dunkin Donut’s worker by telling him “I’m going to kick your teeth down your throat”, finished his sermon and was in the process of giving an altar call when a loud voice started shouting out from the middle of the Church.

Unbeknownst to Locke, two Street preachers associated with the Warriors for Christ were attending the event. They heard of Greg Locke’s scandalous marital shenanigans and infidelities and intended to have a word with him, originally intending to sit peacefully through the sermon and confront him afterward about his unrepentant sins. Having found the sermon to be thoroughly distasteful and biblically unsound, they decided that they’d had enough and began calling him out.

In an exclusive interview with Protestia, one of the street preachers, named Joe, shared his experience.

“We got fed up with the sermon. We were just going to talk to him after the sermon but as soon as they did the altar call, I stood up and I said ‘Shame on you Greg, you adulterer. You need to step down from the pulpit’ and then a bunch of people from the church started to get up in my face and say ‘you need to leave’ and I said ‘ok I’m leaving’.”

As they were leaving the church, they were engaged by angry parishioners. The preachers assure us they left on their own accord, but Locke claims they were removed by force.

Lest you think Locke would stay behind and do damage control, he did not. Instead he left the altar-call mid-sentence and followed them outside. Joe became separated from his co-laborer, Keith, and they were each being yelled at by separate groups when two people pulled out tasers.

“I’m at my car, and I’m like ‘where’s my friend’? and I look over, and Greg is in his face, and I don’t see much. And I’ve got 5-6 people asking me to leave, and I’m looking for my friend, and then I see a couple of tasers getting pulled out. And I don’t know if it’s Greg’s security or the church’s security, but my friend starts running.”

Joe explains that Greg got in his face and they continued exchanging words. Given that he was now surrounded by angry men with tasers, he became alarmed and wanted to extricate himself from the escalating situation, even as he continued calling Greg an adulterer.

“Greg gets in my face and it’s a knee jerk reaction, I say ‘get out of my face, boy’. I say that to him and then he pulls the hat off my head.”

The act of thievery caused tensions to rise further and after Joe asked for his hat back, he alleges that Locke made a physical threat, exclaiming something about wanting to beat him up.

“It was pretty violent. I mean he wasn’t looking to talk things over. He wanted to get physical…and said something about how ‘I’m gonna whoop you’ and I mean, it’s a good choice he didn’t because it wouldn’t have went well for him.”

The preachers, now worried about the possibility of actual violence, called 911 as they were trying to get away from the crowd. Eventually Joe was given his hat back by a man who took it from Locke. They got to the car safely and hung up with the operator. The dispatch called them back right away at which time they reiterated that they were safe, explaining the situation and that there was no need for them to come out. It is unknown at this time whether or not they ultimately did.

Locke, for his part, maintains a very different version of the chain of events. During Sunday service, he described to his congregation how things unfolded from his perspective, in what may be charitably described as a “sensationalized” and “gross embellishment.”

The fact that the congregation cheers and hollers every time he mentions acts of violence towards the two men is not a bug, but rather a feature. It’s what happens when the pulpit, once inhabited by shepherds who loved and cared for the flock by sanctifying them with the Word, is now populated with wolves who juggle sheep heads to entertain the goats.

  1. Lot of ad hominem attacks by him. He needs to repent and be forgiven.

He’d really benefit by reading 1 Timothy, 2 Timothy, Titus and especially 2 Corinthians 4.

May God have mercy on him and his hearers.

  2. What happened to the wife of your youth? Wolf in sheep’s Skin! Talk’s a good game. The Lord Jesus, the Most High rebuke this false prophet!
