As Americans are locked down, Southern Baptist leader wants illegals released

As American Christians were persecuted, Southern Baptist leader Russell Moore stands up for illegal immigrants

Evangelical Elites at the Southern Baptist Convention’s (SBC) Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC) were silent as Democrats persecuted Christians during the Easter holiday. So, what was Russell Moore, head of the ERLC, doing during the crisis? His silence was noted by many conservative Southern Baptists. However, he and his friends at the Soros-backed National Immigration Forum and Evangelical Immigration Table were pushing to release illegal immigrants from detention.

The excuse?

What else. Covid-19.

In a letter from the Evangelical Immigration Table signed by Russell Moore on behalf of the Southern Baptist Convention’s Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission (ERLC), Evangelical Elites urged the release of illegal immigrants in detention and the use of alternatives.

“In the interest of public health – for these detainees, for the staff of these facilities and for the general public – we encourage you to utilize alternatives to detention for individuals who do not pose a threat to public safety,” the letter said.

The Evangelical Elites argued for placing many illegals with sponsoring churches and family members as an alternative to detention.

“We encourage you to partner with churches and community organizations to ensure that individuals who are released can find safe accommodations in which to ‘shelter in place’ for as long as such practices are advised,” the Evangelical Immigration table wrote.

While Americans are locked down, Evangelical Elites want illegals unlocked.

In other words, the solution to a public health crisis is to release more people into the United States.

Does this make sense?

Only to those who are advocating open borders.

It defies common sense.

Travel bans save lives. At this time more than ever, people should face greater limitations entering the US. As Dr. Anthony Fauci said, President Donald Trump’s travel ban saved lives.

It is crazy to ignore this.

It also shows the double standard guiding Evangelical Elites. They show more concern for illegal immigrants than Americans.

As many have pointed out: Dr. Moore and the ERLC were feckless in their defense of religious liberty during Holy Week.

You can lock down Americans and force churches to close, and Dr. Russell Moore will praise the state action.

But lockup illegal immigrants and Moore and his Soros-backed friends at the National Immigration Forum and Evangelical Immigration Table will demand change.

What is wrong with this picture?

How is releasing more people into our communities loving our neighbor?
